Dr. William R. Scott (Bill) left a legacy of brilliance, kindness and generosity. He was a devoted father and husband, and a loyal son, brother and friend. He helped thousands of patients through his years practicing medicine. He loved his family and dedicated his life to improving the lives of others.
Bill was also a proud alumnus of Duke University, obtaining his undergraduate degree in 1961 and his medical degree in 1964. During his time at Duke, he competed on and captained the wrestling team, was a regular on the tennis court, and participated in intramural fencing. His athletic achievements and leadership on the wrestling team exemplified the dedication and excellence he brought to everything he pursued.
To honor him and his pride as a Blue Devil, his family has established the Dr. William R. Scott, T'61, M'64 Scholarship Fund to support future Duke students. The scholarship is open to all students, reflecting Bill's open and generous support for the university. Any and all contributions to the scholarship are welcome.
